Pitches are available from 31 August 2024 for weekend morning and afternoon games.
To be able to book football games on our outdoor parks pitches you will first need to register your team.
You will be asked whether you are a ‘casual’ or a ‘regular’ team.
Casual teams are teams that wish to book a pitch as and when needed for one off games during the season.
Regular teams are teams that have been through an application process and play regular football having been allocated a home pitch for the season.
When you have registered you can then book your game.
When booking a game
- All football pitch bookings are done online, and payment is made at the time of booking.
- Sports pitches are not guaranteed and are based on availability. Pitches will have been assigned for league use with ‘Regular’ teams having been allocated home pitches. ‘Regular’ teams can book pitches up to a month in advance but need to do this by Tuesday midnight at the latest in order to secure their home pitch for the up-and -coming weekend. League Teams can still book on a Wednesday up until midnight however your home pitch is not guaranteed.
- Pitches are ‘opened up’ for other ‘Casual’ team games on Wednesdays but only for the up-and-coming weekend. A team wanting to play a one off/adhoc game can go on the online booking system on Wednesdays to check pitch availability. Bookings are made on a first come first serve basis.

The pitches listed below in our parks and playing fields can be hired out in advance for games. You can also hire indoor pitches at WV Active Bilston – Bert Williams and WV Active Aldersley.
Pitches in our parks can be booked for Saturday & Sunday, morning and afternoon games, during the football season September to April.
To accommodate the cricket season the football pitches at Newbridge Playing Field and Claregate Playing Field are only available from October 2024 to end of March 2025.

To book football games on our outdoor parks sports pitches you will need to register your team here:

Casual teams are teams that wish to book a pitch as and when needed for one off games during the season and do not have a home pitch.
Yes. If you are responsible for more than one team you can register each team. You will then be the person who books the games for each team.
The allocation of pitches is at the discretion of the council and completion of the online application form. The application is emailed to all existing teams every year. We will make every effort to allocate you the pitch of your choice.
Email bookmypitch@wolverhampton.gov.uk and we will send you an application.
Once your registration has been accepted you will then be able to book your games online.
Access to the online booking is open all hours.
If you are a regular team with an allocated home pitch you will need to book your pitch online by Tuesday midnight at the latest to reserve your home pitch for the upcoming weekend (note you can still book on Wednesdays up until midnight but you home pitch cannot be guaranteed for that weekend).

You can then book online for the upcoming weekend. The online booking system is open to casual teams on a Wednesday only.
Pitches are available at the weekend only, morning and afternoon games (10:30am & 2pm).
You can request to reschedule your game on the online booking system. You will then be contacted by us within 5 working days to reschedule the game.
Regular teams will have been allocated a home pitch. Only this pitch will be available to book.
Casual teams will be able to book a pitch that is showing as a vacant.
A game of tennis can be enjoyed for free in our parks, just bring your racket and ball, there is no need to book a court. Or you can hire a court and racket at WV Active Aldersley. Alternatively, you can get involved in Wolverhampton Parks Tennis Leagues.
A card payment is made online when making the booking.
We do not accept cash payments. We only accept card payment when booking online.
We do not issue invoices or accept bank transfers. We only accept card payment when booking online.
It is not possible to pay on the day of the game, your pitch must be booked prior to playing.
If your game is cancelled on the day you will need to go to the council’s online booking site and record the cancellation against your booking. We will then get in touch with you to reschedule.
A cancellation will be due to adverse weather or unplayable pitch conditions.
You will need to bring your own equipment (nets, corner flags etc.) Our pitches will be marked out and goal posts erected.
The home team is responsible for ensuring a referee is arranged for the match.

Pitches and on-site facilities must be left as your found them, litter free & tidy. Where car parking is provided, football team members/spectators are to use the parking facilities provided and not obstruct side roads, driveways and pavements.
Changing room/toilet facilities can be used for the duration of the game with half an hour either side. Players must not wash their boots in the showers or sinks. Clearing blocked drains is extremely costly.
