The Public Map Gallery is an online resource that provides interactive maps and geographic information to the public.
This gallery is designed to help residents, visitors, and businesses access a variety of maps related to different aspects of the city.
The GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Team at the City of Wolverhampton Council is responsible for managing these maps by utilising spatial data to support various city functions. Their tasks typically include:
- Mapping and Visualisation: Creating detailed maps and visual representations of geographic data to aid in urban planning, infrastructure development, and public services.
- Data Management: Collecting, storing, and maintaining geographic data, ensuring its accuracy and accessibility for various departments.
- Analysis and Reporting: Conducting spatial analysis to support decision-making processes, such as identifying optimal locations for new facilities or analysing environmental impacts.
