Primary Education
From 16 April 2025, Wolverhampton residents can find out the allocated school for Reception Year in September 2025.
If you applied online to commence primary education in September 2025, the web portal is available from 16 April 2025 in order to view the allocation made.
The portal can be accessed here and you will also receive an email confirming the allocation.
For children born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021, the deadline for applying for a Reception place for September 2025 was 15 January 2025. Therefore, if you have still not applied please complete the late application form available in the downloads section, or contact the Admissions and Appeals Team on 01902 551122 or via email at school.admissions@wolverhampton.gov.uk
Applications must be made to your home Local Authority, even if you are applying for schools in another Council area.
Admission authorities for each school must set out the criteria against which places will be allocated at the school when there are more applications received than places available, and the order in which the criteria will be applied. A copy of the admissions policy is available on each respective school’s website.
Before making your application please ensure that you have read and understood the Primary Education in Wolverhampton booklet (in the downloads section) which contains important information about making your school place application.
You are allowed to express a preference for five schools. Due to the popularity of Wolverhampton schools, you are encouraged to use all five preferences.
