We provide a series of videos so you can decide if you are ready to move into a property.

Moving and setting up a home, especially for the first time, can be expensive and challenging so at Homes in the City we have a series of pre-tenancy videos to help get you ready. 

These videos cover what Wolverhampton Homes expects from potential tenants, and what you can expect from them. How to manage your money, your tenancy, and your responsibilities. You need to watch the videos if: 

  • You're not a current council or housing association tenant 
  • You have a tenancy with a private landlord 
  • You've had rent arrears or other problems in a past tenancy 

Once you confirm you have watched and understood the videos, we can make your application live and you can start bidding.

What do I need to do next?

  1. Fill in the housing application form

  2. Go to the 'Are you ready' videos

  3. Watch Module 1: Money management videos

  4. Watch Module 2: Managing your tenancy videos

  5. Complete our web form to confirm you have watched and understood the videos

  6. Make sure you have one month's rent saved up. You will need to pay this in advance when you sign your tenancy agreement. This includes everyone, even if you are working or on benefits. Visit our Offer of Housing page for more information.
