Ways in which you could reduce your Council Tax bill.
Homes for Ukraine Council Tax Discount
If you are responsible for paying Council Tax and are being sponsored under the Homes for Ukraine (HFU) sponsorship scheme you will be entitled to a 50% discount on your council tax if the following conditions are met:
- You are a Ukrainian national
- You are living in the UK under the Homes for Ukraine sponsorship scheme (HFU)
- You are living in your own accommodation (not in your sponsor’s home)
- Any other adult resident in the property with you is also living in the UK under the HFU Sponsorship Scheme
To enable us to consider a 50% discount then you must provide the provide the following information:
- Correspondence confirming that you are living in the UK under the Homes for Ukraine scheme.
- Copy of visa/residency permit to show that you and members of your household are a Ukrainian national
- That you are living in the UK under the Homes for Ukraine sponsorship scheme (HFU)
- Please upload the evidence
Other discounts and exemptions
As well as the discounts listed above, you may be entitled to a reduction for one of the following:
- providing care for someone within the property
- a foreign language assistant
- a member of a visiting force
- a foreign diplomat
- a member of a religious community
- detained in prison, hospital or other place of detention
