Children will be encouraged to design mighty Lego machines to compete in Robot Wars style challenges and programme robots to solve fiendish problems.
The Digital Creator Clubs begin on Tuesday 6 August at Central Library with a challenge to create and build incredible Lego robots to compete in a Rocket League. This activity is suitable for children aged 9 and over.
On Wednesday 7 August at Blakenhall Library at the Bob Jones Community Hub, children aged 7 and over will be able to create and build Lego scenes on the theme of space and then learn the skills of animation to create short films.
Finally, on Wednesday 21 August, children can become space engineers, using Lego to build and programme space themed robots. This event takes place at Bilston Library and is suitable for children aged 7 and over.
Each Digital Creator Club takes place from 10.30am to 3pm. Participants should bring their own lunch, and parents and carers are not required to stay with their children throughout the event unless they wish to do so. Tickets are £1 for Wolverhampton Library members and £2.50 for non library members.

Meanwhile, children will also be able to show off their writing skills in a week long BoomWriter Summer Camp. Children can join in the activity from the comfort of their own home from Monday 12 August, and will read, write and then vote for their favourite piece of writing to decide what gets published in the final book.
The first chapter of the book has been written by Jeff Kinney, author of Diary Of A Wimpy kid series. The course is free and suitable for children aged 7 and over. The library events are a key part of Summer Squad, a programme coordinated by the City of Wolverhampton Council featuring hundreds of events and activities for children and young people taking place across Wolverhampton during the school holidays.
