It began with rock and pop groups performing at the Music School, followed by 4 nights of music from a range of groups at St John’s Church in the Square.
Meanwhile, the new Big Top Band performed live for the first time during the series. The band rehearses weekly as part of inclusive out of school music provision.
The programme concludes this Friday (19 July) with a concert featuring Wolverhampton Youth Orchestra and Wolverhampton Youth Wind Orchestra at The University of Wolverhampton at The Wulfrun Hall. It begins at 7.30pm and entry is free – all are welcome and no booking is necessary.
Both groups will be at heading off for a week long tour of Tuscany next week, where they will represent Wolverhampton in a series of 3 concerts.
Head of Wolverhampton Music Service Ciaran O’Donnell said: “We were delighted to see so many families and friends supporting their young musicians during our Summer Concert Series.
“It has been a real celebration of the achievements of all the members of the groups and it has been a great way to inspire young people and foster a love of live music.”

“Audiences were rightly proud of their fantastic performances throughout the week and I would like to congratulate them all.”
Wolverhampton Music Service provides high quality tuition and musical opportunities for youngsters from schools across the city, including the chance to perform with its flagship groups, Wolverhampton Youth Orchestra and Wolverhampton Youth Wind Orchestra.
