Held over the February school holidays, youngsters in Wolverhampton took part in activities from local providers ranging from sports, holiday camps and fun days to dance and drama workshops, arts and crafts and more.
Creating opportunities for children and young people is a major priority for the City of Wolverhampton Council and, following on from the huge success of recent holiday programmes, it is working on plans for the Easter break and hopes to deliver many more exciting activities across the city. Councillor Beverley Momenabadi, the council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “We were thrilled and delighted with the response to the Yo! Wolves February half term programme, with many providers fully booked and thousands of children and young people taking part across the city.
“We now have a large portfolio of local providers offering a wide choice of holiday activities, from active sport and recreation through to arts and crafts and fun and games.
“Many of our organisers are inclusive, offering activities for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), while other specialists provide SEND specific activities.
“It’s so important for young people and families to have something to do during school holidays, especially during these difficult times of financial hardship when families need all the help they can get.
“Half-term proved to be a fantastic, fun packed week for our children and we are now finalising plans for Easter to ensure that we can provide another brilliant range of spring activities and opportunities across the city.”
