With memberships starting at just £10 per month the service has been encouraging healthy lifestyles with a whole range of facilities designed to suit all ages and abilities.
Councillor Jasbir Jaspal, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Adults and Wellbeing, said: “WV Active has 3 fantastic venues across the city, WV Active Central, WV Active Aldersley and WV Active Bilston-Bert Williams, offering our residents access to facilities and exercise classes that are second to none.
“During the pandemic the staff worked tirelessly running online exercise classes recorded at the venues and from their own homes, ensuring members were able to enjoy exercising in a safe environment.
“Since the end of lockdown membership numbers have continued to increase and have now hit a new high, with people of all ages getting the opportunity to lead healthier and more active lives as they choose to return to using our leisure facilities.
“As well as being great places to get fit and healthy, WV Active provides a family friendly environment and I am thrilled that people are once again able to enjoy the wide range of activities on offer, helping people feel safe and ready to get their fitness back on track.”
WV Active venues include:
- WV Active Aldersley, Hugh Porter Way, Aldersley, offering fitness gym and 2 exercise studios, athletics track, cycling velodrome, outdoor tennis and netball courts, sports pitches and indoor arena for badminton, tennis, indoor bowls, five a-side football and more.
- WV Active Bilston-Bert Williams, Nettlefolds Way, Bilston, boasts an 8 lane 25m swimming pool, studio pool, fitness gym and 2 exercise studios, multi use sports hall and squash courts.
- WV Active Central, Bath Avenue has an 8 lane 25m swimming pool, fitness gym, exercise studio and steam room.
Members have access to all 3 facilities and can take part in unlimited fitness classes, gym usage and swimming. A pay as you go option is also available.
