The Lichfield Street gallery is hosting Two Ways Of Life, a symposium and portfolio development day on Saturday 23 November, 2013, from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
The event will enable photographers to explore and discuss analogue and digital image making, join in critical debate with professionals and seek advice on their own career and portfolio development.
It is being held as part of Wolverhampton Art Gallery's latest exhibition, From Darkroom to Digital, which tells the story of the city's contribution to photography over the years. From Darkroom to Digital opens next weekend and is co-curated by Wolverhampton Photographic Society.
Rebecca Morris, Wolverhampton Art Gallery's Promotions and Operations Manager, said: "For many photographers and artists a portfolio is the main way to secure work, commissions and exhibitions. Developing and maintaining a portfolio is important for showcasing work and to demonstrate talent, career development and ambition.
"Two Ways Of Life is a must for emerging photographers who wish to understand how to develop their work and their portfolio in order to secure opportunities."
