That is the clear message from the Wolverhampton Interchange project partnership following the announcement that it had not been successful with its bid for Regional Growth Fund money.
Councillor Peter Bilson, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration and Prosperity, said: "While we are obviously disappointed with this news, we will deliver the Interchange scheme which is absolutely vital to the city.
"The partnership between ourselves, Neptune, Centro, Virgin Trains, the Canal and Riverside trust and Network Rail remains strong and we are actively seeking alternative funding streams.
"The Black Country Strategic Transport Board has recommended the Interchange project for major local schemes funding - a commitment which highlights its importance not just to the city but the wider region.
"Also, by virtue of preparing the RGF bid, and during the period since its submission, we have worked up the detail of the scheme and are in a far stronger position.
"The overall scheme will deliver an enhanced transport infrastructure for Wolverhampton, as well as a host of other benefits including more than a 1,000 new jobs, and we remain resolutely committed to it."
