They have collected goodies and written personal letters to include in Christmas hampers which will be delivered to customers of the City of Wolverhampton Council run service next week.
Laura Passmore, Director of Conduct at Thomas Telford UTC, said: "Kindness is one of our core values as a school, and our staff and students work hard to demonstrate it daily, especially during the Christmas season.
"We greatly admire the incredible work Meals on Wheels does every day, providing a vital lifeline to those in need, and recognise that the people the team serve may face loneliness over the festive period.
"At Thomas Telford UTC, we emphasise the importance of supporting not only our school community but also the wider local community, and this is a wonderful way to reflect this commitment. Students and staff enjoy contributing to this meaningful initiative each year and we hope the personal letters will help bring people closer together."
Councillor Paula Brookfield, Cabinet Member for Governance, said: "At this time of year it is important for us to make the festive season as special as it can be by offering a special Meals on wheels menu on Christmas Day, along with a mince pie, mints and a cracker, and we are thrilled that we’ll also be able to deliver these wonderful Christmas hampers.
"On behalf of the team and the council, I would like to express our gratitude to the staff and students at Thomas Telford UTC for their continued support in donations once again this year."
The Meals on Wheels service has been delivered by the council's Catering Services team for over 30 years. They provide a hot delicious choice of meals including English, Afro-Caribbean, Asian and vegetarian menus, delivered by a team of 18 dedicated and passionate drivers who operate in all weather conditions all year round.
