West Park has received the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence award. The accolade is given only to sites that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews left at the TripAdvisor website.
To receive the award, attractions must meet a range of criteria, including maintaining an overall rating of at least 4 out of 5. Sites awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence are located all over the world.
Councillor Elias Mattu, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure and Communities, said: "Winning the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence is a great accolade for everyone at the council who works so hard to make West Park the fantastic attraction that it is, particularly our Parks Development Team and Public Realm Services who keep it looking fantastic all year round.
"There is no greater seal of approval than being recognised by our visitors, and we'd like to thank all of our visitors who took the time to write a review of West Park on TripAdvisor.
"With the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence based on their feedback, the accolade is a remarkable vote of confidence to Wolverhampton's 'green lungs' and our continued commitment to excellence."
Marc Charron, President of TripAdvisor for Business, added: "TripAdvisor is pleased to honour exceptional sites for consistent excellence.
"The Certificate of Excellence award gives top performing establishments around the world the recognition they deserve, based on feedback from those who matter most - their customers. From Australia to Zimbabwe, we want to applaud exceptional hospitality businesses for offering TripAdvisor travellers a great customer experience."
West Park is one of the few remaining examples of an unspoilt Victorian municipal park. It features 43 acres of landscaped green space within a 10 minute walk of Wolverhampton city centre, and attractions include a conservatory, tennis courts, chalet tearooms, boating lake, children's play area and bowling green.
