The City of Wolverhampton Council owned housing company has employed local contractor Jessup to build the 34 properties for market sale and rent on the site formerly occupied by Ettingshall Primary School.
Work started on site last summer and is expected to be completed this winter.
Sweet Briary and neighbouring WV Living development ‘Peascroft’, on Prouds Lane, now have just 10 plots remaining for sale out of 74 being built.
Councillor Peter Bilson, Deputy Leader of the City of Wolverhampton and Cabinet Member for City Assets and Housing, said: “WV Living was set up 3 years ago to increase the supply of much needed high quality new homes in the city, building 1,000 in the first 5 years.
“Sweet Briary is a top quality development offering residents beautifully designed homes which are energy efficient, close to public transport, schools, healthcare and green spaces.
“It also has the honour of achieving Black Country Garden City status, an accolade given to developments that are creating attractive places where people want to live while also transforming the reality and perceptions of the wider area.
“The show home is testament to the standards set by the company.”
The show home at Sweet Briary is open from 10am to 5pm, 7 days a week.
Work on WV Living homes is also underway on a plot of land on nearby Sweetbriar Road which will see 10 affordable homes built.
The company’s largest development, ‘The Marches’ on Lakefield Road, has recently seen work commence on site and will deliver 266 homes.
There will be a mixture of 210, 2 storey 2 bedroom houses, 2 and 3 storey 3 bedroom and 4 bedroom houses, and 56 2 bedroom apartments built for market rent.
A quarter of the homes developed will be affordable housing for rent and shared ownership.
WV Living’s first development at Danesmore Pastures, where 52 homes including 13 affordable homes, are being built is completely sold out with the first residents having already moved in.
