The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment seeks to gather comprehensive data to better understand the unique needs of serving personnel, people who have previously served and their extended families, and to guide the development and commissioning of new services.
The assessment is being conducted through 3 separate surveys designed to capture the experiences and needs of: individuals currently serving or who have served in the armed forces, including both full-time personnel and reservists and veterans; families of serving or former armed forces members, including spouses and partners, widows and widowers, wider family members and adult children; and children, including adopted children, of serving or former armed forces families who are younger than 18 years.
Councillor Greg Brackenridge, Chair of Wolverhampton's Armed Forces Covenant Board, said: "We urge all members of the Armed Forces community in Wolverhampton to participate in the survey and encourage others to do the same.
"Your input is crucial. By sharing your experiences and needs, you can help shape future services and ensure that they are relevant and effective."
The surveys are open until Monday 19 August, 2024 and are available at:
- Survey for Personnel and Veterans (Individuals currently serving or who have served in the armed forces, including both full-time personnel and reservists and veterans)
- Survey for Family Members (Families of serving or former armed forces members (including spouses and partners, widows and widowers, wider family members and adult (18 years or older) children)
- Survey for Service Children (Children (including adopted children) of serving or former armed forces families who are younger than 18 years)

As lead for the Armed Forces Covenant Partnership Board for the city, the City of Wolverhampton Council co-ordinates support for the armed forces community across Wolverhampton. It is also a founding member of the Wolverhampton Gold Award Association, a network of gold award holders working together to improve the experience of the armed forces community on the ground.
