Members of The Way's Young People's Development Group, as well as young people from Deansfield Community School along with Rakegate Girls Group, have designed the hoardings, which describe 3 key factors of the Youth Zone, "Pride in Wolverhampton", "Branding and Values" and the "Youth Zone offer".
Local design agency, Synaxis, were tasked with putting the young people's ideas into action and the hoardings, produced by Sports Identity, have been fixed on the outer walls of the Youth Zone construction site by contractors A & H Construction.
In the coming weeks, additional hoardings will be erected showing artists impressions of the building.
Councillor Val Gibson, Wolverhampton City Council's, Cabinet Member for Children and Families, said: "It's great to see young people getting so involved in the development of The Way, and these bright, vibrant and eye catching hoardings are an exciting indication of what people can expect from the new Youth Zone when it opens for the first time early next year."
The Way's General Manager Alice Davey added: "Involving young people in the process of developing a Youth Zone is imperative - The Way is a Youth Zone designed for young people, with input from the young people of Wolverhampton.
"These hoardings showcase the creativity of young people; their ideas are inspiring and represent another important step towards the realisation of a new, iconic facility for Wolverhampton."
The Way will be a purpose built facility for the city's young people aged 8 to 19, and 25 for those with disabilities. Located on School Street , it will offer a wide range of activities for young people to partake in, such as sport, fitness, dance, arts, music, media, enterprise and wellbeing and self improvement.
The state of the art facility will also boast a high spec music room, a 3G pitch, enterprise media suite, climbing wall, multi use 4 court sports hall, cafe, dance studio, gym, cooking area, general recreation area and much more.
Construction of the facility is on track to be completed by January 2016. The foundation of the structure for the building is complete, the concrete for the first floor has been cast and the roofing will be put in over the next month. The facing brick work will be ongoing over the next few months, alongside various other components of the building.
