Local libraries are hoping to have a laugh as they celebrate Black Country Day on Sunday 14 July.

Black Country Libraries in Partnership, which includes the City of Wolverhampton Council's Library Service, are holding a Black Country Family Joke Competition – with prizes for the funniest up for grabs.

To enter, email your best Black Country joke to mylibraryservice@wolverhampton.gov.uk(link sends email) by 14 July; library staff will pick their favourites and post them on Twitter(link is external) or on Facebook(link is external)

Councillor Harman Banger, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for City Economy, said: "We're well known for our sense of humour in the Black Country, and this is our chance to show it off. If you know a joke or two, email them to mylibraryservice@wolverhampton.gov.uk(link sends email) and help celebrate Black Country Day in style."
