A major international sports event is coming to Wolverhampton, and it’s completely free for everyone to attend.

Some of the world’s best athletes will put on a show at Old Market Square between 13 to 15 September as part of the FISE Xperience Series, featuring competitions including BMX Park, Scooter Park and Breaking.

Organised by Hurricane Group in partnership with the City of Wolverhampton Council, the event is completely free for Wolverhampton residents and visitors to the city to attend.

The international sports competitions will take place after the City of Wolverhampton Council secured £390,000 worth of funding, from the West Midlands Combined Authority as part of their HM Government’s Commonwealth Games Legacy Funding.

The event has also received £91,000 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

As part of the FISE Xperience, a separate E-FISE BMX Street contest has been launched and will bring the of the world's best Pro BMX Street riders to Wolverhampton, where they will showcase their incredible skills in the city's streets.

Amateur riders can also take part by entering the "Wild Card Contest." Three winners will be able to compete alongside the professionals for a chance to win a share of a total prize fund of €22,000.

The FISE Xperience Series, launched in 2007, brings urban sports to the masses, offering local riders the chance to compete with top national, European, and international athletes. Each tour stop is a celebration of sport and youth, showcasing urban sports, promoting talent, and providing a platform for riders to shine.
