A city centre road will be closed for 2 weeks as Severn Trent Water carries out major repairs to a damaged sewer.
Queen Square will be closed to traffic in both directions every day from Monday 24 February to Sunday 9 March, 2014, while the work is carried out.
The route is normally only open to buses, taxis and private hire firms and they are being diverted via Stafford Street, Ring Road St Peter's and Waterloo Road while the restrictions are in place.
Also, traffic travelling up Darlington Street from Waterloo Road will be diverted via Red Lion Street, Mitre Fold and North Street.
Motorists will still be able to access Cheapside via North Street.
Severn Trent Water will be carrying out further works on Victoria Street as part of the project from 9 March for approximately 4 weeks and details of temporary diversions will be announced in due course.
