The Swimathon is the UK's biggest fundraising event of its kind, and individual swimmers can take part over 1.5 kilometres, 2.5km or 5km distances. Those who prefer a team challenge are invited to form a relay squad to tackle either 1.5km or 5km.
Central Baths is one of more than 600 pools around the country taking part, and people can take the plunge on either Saturday or Sunday, 22 and 23 March, 2014.
Central Baths manager Ian Bament said: "The Sainsbury's Sport Relief Swimathon is not only a great way for people to exercise, but by getting sponsorship from friends and family, they'll also be helping Sport Relief in its work supporting people living incredibly tough lives around the world."
The Sainsbury's Sport Relief Swimathon is being backed by 4 time Paralympic gold medallist Ellie Simmonds OBE and Olympic gold medallist and Swimathon President Duncan Goodhew MBE. He said: "Swimmers of all ages and abilities can take on a challenge in the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Swimathon.
"With 600 pools taking part this year, there is even more opportunity to train early for your challenge, while raising much needed cash for Sport Relief."
Councillor Elias Mattu, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure and Communities, added: "The Swimathon is a good excuse for people to get in the pool, either on their own or with family and friends, and complete a charity swimming challenge of their choice."
