The City of Wolverhampton Council's Education Library Service and Go Write worked in partnership on the project, which saw hundreds of letters submitted by local children.
Youngsters voted for their favourite, with a total of 14 letters selected to be included in a special book, Dear Ma'am, which also featured poems of thanks written by Wolverhampton's talented Young Poet Laureate Jadon St Rose and Primary Poet Champion Rosie Byrne.
The book’s striking cover was designed by children who took part in a digital art session at Central Library over Easter.

It was posted to Buckingham Palace by Councillor Jasbir Jaspal, Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, on Monday (4 July, 2022).
She said: "This is a delightful book and we hope it brings Her Majesty great joy as she reads the work of our school children, and our 2 young poets, Jadon and Rosie.
"Engaging youngsters in creative writing was a very fitting way for our library service to celebrate The Queen's Platinum Jubilee, and I would like to thank the hundreds of pupils who took part and helped us mark this very special occasion."
Dear Queen, We Celebrate You
By Jadon St Rose - Wolverhampton Young Poet Laureate
We celebrate seventy years of service
Seventy years of grace and dignity
The peak of class and etiquette
Countrywide love and support emanates
With homes laden in red, white, and blue
We celebrate you
A peaceful moderator of this prestige country
Your influence proliferates across the globe
A shining light that glimmers o
Bright, your crown glows
An idol not bound by a case
Citizen’s adoration of your sublime grace
A living paragon for dutifulness
Iron willed and colour clad
Delivering a dignified wave
Reciprocated by the royal guards
Celebrating your platinum jubilee
A toast to our majesty
May this commemoration be
Truly as magnificent as thee
A Right Royal Party
By Rosie Byrne - Primary Poet Champion 2022
I’m planning a party fit for the Queen
It will be the best celebration you’ve ever seen
Party, planning, preparation
Bringing people together in our great nation
Time to party, time to cheer
It’s her majesty’s platinum year!
Who doesn’t love a party? So let me see…
What would be fit for a Queen’s jubilee?
We’ll have cucumber sandwiches
With the crusts cut off
Canapes, crudites and other posh nosh to scoff!
We’ll have red velvet cake with white whipped cream
Table clothes and cutlery polished till it gleams
I’ll bake fruit scones and serve them with jam
Everyone must come, I hope that you can
I’m planning a party fit for the Queen
It will be the best celebration you’ve ever seen
