The deadline for applications for places for students due to start in Year 7 in September, 2018 is 31 October, 2017, and parents are urged to submit theirs now.
Councillor Claire Darke, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Education, said: "If your child is in their final year at primary or junior school, you should now be making your application for their secondary school place.
"While making the transfer to secondary school may seem a long way off, the closing date for applications is 31 October so time really is of the essence.
"The application process is quick and easy, and ensuring applications are made before the deadline will increase the chances of securing a place at a preferred school.
"Around a third of parents have already completed their applications, but many have not yet started, and if this is you I would urge you to get cracking.
"In addition, around 200 parents have begun their applications but have not yet submitted them, and again if this is you, now is the time to log back on and complete the process today."
To apply for a school place, please visit Type=articles;Articleid=2548;Title=School admissions;. Parents and guardians who apply online will be notified of their child's allocated school place on 1 March, 2018.
Councillor Darke added: "With 89% of schools now rated either Good or Outstanding by Ofsted, there has never been a better time to go to school in the City of Wolverhampton."
