The changing rooms will be closed from Monday morning (23 May, 2016) for approximately 10 weeks to allow the work to take place. Temporary changing rooms will be put in place for customers to use during this time, though customers are advised that shower facilities will not be available.
The update is part of an ongoing series of improvements at the City of Wolverhampton Council-run centre which have been part funded by a £150,000 grant from Sport England.
Councillor Steve Evans, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for City Environment, said: "The changing rooms at WV Active Central will be modernised and refurbished to a high standard allowing us to provide customers with excellent changing facilities.
"The first phase of the improvement work at WV Active Central saw the creation of a spin studio and an exercise studio, and the refurbishment of the changing rooms is part of the second phase.
"Temporary changing facilities will be put in place while the work takes place, and although the showers will not be available for a short period. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause, but I am sure customers will agree that it will be worth it."
