On Thursday 2 October, 2014, Councillor Peter Bilson, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Prosperity at Wolverhampton City Council and Steve Parry, Managing Director at development partners Neptune Developments Ltd formally welcomed Dave Ronan, Operations Director at contractor Balfour Beatty to the site.
Balfour Beatty's arrival at Interchange 10 coincides with the first Investment Opportunities in Wolverhampton Conference at Molineux Stadium, where more than 60 representatives from development companies and letting agents were shown the city's potential for commercial, retail, leisure and residential development.
Councillor Peter Bilson said: "It's immensely satisfying to know that work will soon get underway on a scheme that's hugely important to the city.
"The council has invested in this development as part of our overall strategy to re-energise the city centre and create new jobs and opportunities for local people.
"It's also a pleasure to be here with our development partners, Neptune Developments, to welcome our chosen contractor, Balfour Beatty.
"The company has a proud record of supporting local enterprise in all of its projects. It's a great boost for the city to know that they'll be following these principles when they work with the council and its partners on delivering Interchange 10".
Planners gave the £8.1 million Interchange 10 project the green light in March 2014 and the site has already attracted significant interest from a number of potential retailers and businesses.
It is anticipated that construction of the building, which will start in mid October, will be completed by the end of 2015.
