MayorsFest 2024 saw top rock band Terrorvision headlining alongside an excellent line-up at KK’s Steel Mill, playing to a full house on Saturday 6 April. The following evening, The Gifford Arms hosted even more bands with headliners White Tyger continuing to entertain the crowds.
This is the biggest single donation ever made to the Mayoral charity and is down to the generosity of rock music fans from not only Wolverhampton, but from all around the country, who descend on the City in their droves for this annual festival, which first occurred in 2016.
The outgoing Mayor said: “I want to thank Doddy White and his team from Rockers Through The Ages who are instrumental in organising this music festival, the management and staff at both venues, KK’s Steel Mill and The Gifford Arms, the bands who give freely of their time and of course the fans who buy the tickets, buy the merchandise and bid generously in the charity auction.
“This donation of £6500 is an incredible amount of money and it will make a massive difference to the work my chosen charities can do out in the community.”
The donation will directly benefit the three charities the Mayor has raised money for this year: animal rescue charity, Wings and Paws, The Haven which provides support for women and children who have been subjected to domestic abuse and Give Us A Break, a volunteer-led charity dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of young people with complex disabilities and their families.
