They take place in the Studio Pool at the popular leisure centre in Bilston every Sunday from 1pm to 2pm and again between 2pm and 3pm. A wide range of inflatables and floats will be available and all under 8 swim for free, though they must be accompanied by an adult for whom sessions are £3.95 per person.
The float sessions are not the only new attraction for young visitors to Bert Williams Leisure Centre, which also plays host to the inflatable aqua run, Double Trouble, every Sunday afternoon.
Aimed at young people aged between 8 and 16 - as well as their parents or guardians - Double Trouble is a floating obstacle course and gives daredevils the chance to compete against one another. Two 1 hour long sessions take place each Sunday starting at 3.15pm and 4.45pm respectively and cost £3.50 per person. Double Trouble can also be hired out exclusively for birthday parties.
Councillor Elias Mattu, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure and Communities, said: "We're always keen to offer a wide range of activities for our visitors, young and old, and we're sure the new float sessions and the Double Trouble aqua run will prove really popular with young swimmers."
Meanwhile, people can now also hire Bert Williams' studio pool for birthday parties. It is available for bookings on Saturday afternoons from 2pm to 3pm and 3pm to 4pm, with floats and other pool toys included and party food served afterwards in the café. Parties can also be held on Saturday from 4pm to 5pm and 5pm to 6pm, with the conference room available afterwards for groups who wish to bring their own party snacks.
