All children from Reception to Year 9 were eligible for the free vaccination, which was given by nurses from Vaccination UK in the city's school.
Pupils who missed out can get it at a special catch up clinic taking place at the Jamia Masjid Bilal Mosque, 58 Newhampton Road West, Wolverhampton this Saturday (14 January) from 9am to 1.30pm.
Appointments should be booked in advance by calling Vaccination UK on 01902 200077. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and, if consent hasn't already been given, it can be provided at the clinic.
Vaccinations are available either via a nasal spray or alternatively via injection if parents do not wish their child to have the nasal spray, or if their child is unable to have it for medical reasons, for instance if they have a supressed immune system or severe egg allergy.
There will be a further catch up clinic at Low Hill Community Centre on Saturday 28 January, again from 9am to 1pm.
Councillor Jasbir Jaspal, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, said: "The flu season in the UK typically lasts for 4 to 8 months, as outbreaks can occur from December to May, though in reality you can catch flu at any time of year, so it is really important to be protected.
“If your child wasn't able to have their flu vaccination in school for any reason, for instance if they were off on the day that the Vaccination UK nurses visited, please take them along to one of the catch up sessions taking place this month so that they don't miss out.”
Children aged 2 and 3, and children with some long term health conditions, are also eligible for the flu vaccination, with their vaccinations given at their local GP surgery.
