Carrying out a short review of the Wednesfield school, the first since it became part of the Perry Hall Multi-Academy Trust which also runs Berrybrook Primary School, Her Majesty's Inspector Martin Pye found that standards have risen at Perry Hall, while the quality of teaching has continued to go from strength to strength.
He noted considerable improvements in pupils' achievement in mathematics and the excellent provision in early years and said that "strong leadership has brought about many improvements since the previous inspection", adding that Perry Hall was "on its way towards becoming an outstanding school".
He praised pupils, saying their behaviour is orderly and courteous and that they "display a jolly, conversational manner with other pupils and adults". And he highlighted safeguarding procedures at Perry Hall, calling them "a model of exemplary practice".
Executive Headteacher Amarjit Cheema said: "This report has left me feeling incredibly proud of our school and children.
"As always our children demonstrated how wonderful they are and how they care about each other. The staff and governors of the school have ensured that we provide a safe environment for the children to learn in and this was recognised as a model of exemplary practice.
"The report is a true reflection of Perry Hall and testament to the hard work of staff, governors, children and parents of our school. We will continue to strive to provide the best education to our children, and we are well on our way to becoming an 'outstanding' school."
Director of Education Julien Kramer said: "This is another great example of how ambitious leaders such as Amarjit Cheema are working in partnership with the council and other schools to improve the standard of education in Wolverhampton.
"We have more good or outstanding schools than ever before here in Wolverhampton, and I am particularly pleased to hear that, in the inspector's opinion, Perry Hall Primary School is well on its way to becoming outstanding.
"I would like to congratulate Mrs Cheema, her staff and of course the pupils and parents at Perry Hall on this excellent outcome."
