Despite the heavy snow, more than 350 people attended the second annual fair, at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, as part of the city's Residents' Programme (14 to 31 March).
There was help and advice available on buying your first home, downsizing, improving your existing property, and renting privately.
Visitors talked to around 20 exhibitors, including house builders, private landlords, mortgage advisers and lenders, estate agents, and solicitors.
City of Wolverhampton Council's Rent with Confidence, Affordable Warmth, and Housing Improvement teams were also on hand.
The event was sponsored by WV Living, the city council's own housing company, who saw three of their first ever homes snapped up on their early bird offer.
The offer enabled people to secure a plot for just £125 from the development plan of Danesmore Pastures, in Ashmore Park, where 52. 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes, including 13 affordable homes, are being built.
Other visitors put their name on the waiting list for plots to be released in future WV Living phases.
Later this year, WV Living will provide details of homes for rent, and shared ownership homes to be provided by the council.
Councillor Peter Bilson, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for City Assets and Housing, said: "It was great to see so many people battle through the snow to attend yesterday's second annual City Housing Fair.
"There was plenty of advice and information on offer to help people negotiate the housing market.
"The fair is now a permanent fixture in the city's Residents' Programme, which is all about supporting residents into housing, jobs, and improving the health and wellbeing of local people."
The Housing Fair is just one of a range of free events taking place in the city between Wednesday 14 March to Saturday 31 March, 2018, to support local people to get support with living, learning and working in the City of Wolverhampton.
