The free event, which runs from 11am to 3pm, will see the park transformed into a series of interactive themed play places aimed at children aged up to 12.
For the younger visitors there will be a Toddlers Village featuring activities provided by the city's Children's Centres.
And for the more adventurous, attractions include an area where children can make their own dens or tackle a low ropes course with cargo nets, traversing ropes and rope swings. There is also a cycle route around the park, a cycling assault course and specially adapted bikes available for those with disabilities.
Children can practice their circus skills with skipping ropes, parachutes, hop scotch and hula hoops in a free play area, which needs parental supervision.
Parents can also find out about the Terrific for Twos offer, which provides up to 15 hours a week of free childcare for eligible 2 year olds, while Free Radio's Cat and Nelly and Humfree the Hamster will be hosting storytime sessions.
The Playday event has been organised by Wolverhampton City Council's Children, Young People and Families Services and there will also be a stand offering information and advice to parents.
