Councillor Paul Sweet, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: "HeadStart Wolverhampton, Gazebo Theatre, the WV10 Consortium and YMCA Black Country are offering a jam packed timetable of free activities this autumn.
"The summer programme was very successful with around 1,800 young people and their families taking part in activities across the four areas, and we're hoping these sessions will prove equally popular.
"This is a fantastic opportunity to develop all important family life skills and build confidence for young people and their parents and carers."
One young person who attended the Summer Programme said: "Coming to these activities has changed me. I have been more confident and less shy, and it helps you communicate with other people. I'm excited to go to the autumn activities too!"
HeadStart Wolverhampton, part of a £56m National Lottery funded programme set up by Big Lottery Fund covering 6 areas across the country, is designed to improve the emotional mental health and wellbeing of children and young people aged 10 to 16 by giving them the skills they need to cope with the challenges of modern life.
As well as running a series of specific programmes in the four target areas, HeadStart offers city wide help through its Type=links;Linkid=9943;Title=Support and Guidance Directory;Target=_blank;, including information targeted at young people, parents and carers, and professionals.
