Scores of dedicated fostering families came together for a fun-filled day at the annual Fostering Picnic in the Park event last week.

The outdoor event, organised by the City of Wolverhampton Council's Fostering for Wolverhampton team, featured inflatables, games, and a picnic for foster families in Wolverhampton at Bantock Park last Friday 2 August.

More than 100 people joined in the fun on the afternoon, with families enjoying exclusive access to Jollies Inflatable Fun Fair, which opened to the public the next day.

These events provide foster parents, their families, and children in care, with opportunities to connect and have fun together during the school holidays.

Councillor Jacqui Coogan, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Education, said: “This is just one of the many events we hold for our fostering community throughout the year. It’s a chance to bring everyone together – foster parents, children and staff – for a fun-filled afternoon in the park.

"It’s also an opportunity for us to show our appreciation to our foster parents, who do such an incredible job looking after children in care.

“I'd encourage anyone who is interested in becoming a foster parent to find out more by getting in touch.”
