Representatives from the City of Wolverhampton Council's Adults and Children and Young People’s Services will be on hand to highlight current vacancies in the city at the annual Compass Jobs Recruitment Fair.
Representatives will be able to talk about what it’s like working for the City of Wolverhampton Council, including what career progression opportunities are available, with job hunters having the chance to speak and ask direct questions to employees already working in Wolverhampton.
In addition, the council will be hosting a seminar during the day focusing on restorative language and avoiding victim blaming facilitated by Principal Social Worker Jennifer Rogers.
Current vacancies include social worker and newly qualified social worker posts across Children’s Services, while people can also find out about future opportunities within Adult Services.
Councillor Beverley Momenabadi, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: "We believe Wolverhampton is the best place to do social work and we are constantly striving to improve and drive up standards of practice across the city.
“Our social workers do an incredible job and, as a council, we do all we can to support them in their role.”
Councillor Linda Leach, Cabinet Member for Adult Services, added: “We are keen to hear from talented social workers who are looking for the opportunity to make a real difference to the people and families in our city and who want to join our fabulous teams, and we would also encourage people to join us at our seminar."
The Compass Jobs Fair, the largest social work and social care recruitment, retention and career development event in the UK, takes place at Birmingham Conference and Events Centre on Monday 14 March, 2022.
