Inspectors visited Field View Primary School in Bilston earlier this year and found that its dedicated leadership team and governors had "worked hard to successfully bring about rapid improvement" at the school.
Leaders are "determined that all pupils will achieve well", with pupils making "good progress in a wide range of subjects". The broad, balanced curriculum ensures that pupils develop a wide range of skills, with the teaching of reading "a strength of the school. Pupils read enthusiastically and show a deepening understanding".
Pupils are happy to attend the Lonsdale Road school, one of three primary academies within the St Martin's Multi Academy Trust, and are "well cared for and talk positively about their learning experiences".
They behave well in class and show positive attitudes to their learning. Parents and carers recognise the improvements which have been made, and many would recommend the school to others.
The judgement of Good across the five key inspection areas completes a remarkable turnaround for Field View Primary, which was found to require improvement in 2013 and had been placed into special measures in 2010.
Headteacher Sam Davis said: "We are very pleased with the outcome of this inspection and we feel it reflects all the hard work and determination from our staff in the school, across the Trust, and the children and families of Field View Primary School."
Councillor Lynne Moran, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Education, said: "This very positive inspection highlights the rapid improvement which has taken place at Field View Primary School in recent times.
"Huge improvements have been made over the years to the quality of provision and as a result, outcomes have been consistently improving particularly at Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.
"I would like to congratulate Sam Davis and everyone associated with Field View Primary School on their achievements."
