Wolves take on Bournemouth at Molineux on Wednesday (24 June) at 6pm, the first home game for the club since the coronavirus lockdown saw football suspended in March. They then face Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday (27 June).
All 92 remaining Premier League matches are being played behind closed doors. Clubs around the country are putting up physical barriers to prevent people from being able to see the pitch from outside the stadium, including at Molineux, and Wolves, West Midlands Police and the City of Wolverhampton Council are urging fans not to gather at the ground and instead: Support your club. Stay safe. Follow at home.
Every remaining match this season is being broadcast live either by Sky, BT Sport, the BBC or Amazon Prime, with around a third being made available free to air. Extended highlights are also being broadcast free to air. Wolves' games on Wednesday and Saturday are on BT Sport, with 6pm and 12.30pm kick offs respectively. In addition, all Wolves matches, home and away, are covered live on radio or on the official Wolves App. TV coverage for Wolves’ remaining matches will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
John Denley, Wolverhampton's Director of Public Health, said: "The return of football is great news, and is another way in which things are very slowly beginning to return to some sense of normality.
“We must remember that Covid-19 remains a very real threat. We risk a second wave of cases and deaths unless we all continue to do everything we can to stop the spread of the virus.
"That means staying at home as much as possible, limiting contact with other people, and keeping your distance if you do go out by staying at least two metres away from others. In addition, the Government says that people should not meet outdoors in a group of more than six with people who are not in your household.
"There’s a very good reason why football matches are being played behind closed doors, and the message to Wolves fans, and to football fans around the country, is please don't come down to the stadium on matchdays because there'll be nothing to see there; instead, stay home and cheer on your team on the TV or radio instead."
