The City of Wolverhampton Council is spreading Christmas cheer to residents and carers.

Its Carer Support, Community Support and Meals on Wheels teams have joined forces to provide 120 meals to carers, the people they care for and others in the community which the 3 teams have supported during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Community Support Worker Joanne Evans worked with the Meals on Wheels service to develop a Christmas menu featuring turkey and all the trimmings and topped off with a mince pie and festive cracker.

Councillor Linda Leach, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Adult Services, said: "This is a wonderful gesture by our Carer Support, Community Support and Meals on Wheels teams who are bringing some festive cheer to people for whom 2020 has been a particularly challenging year.

"The feedback we've had is really positive; people are clearly touched and thrilled to be receiving a Christmas feast at home."

One happy recipient said: "It’s people like your team that make a difference to us oldens, there is still kindness out there, thank you so much.”
