The Steve Bull Foundation and the Sikh Toy Appeal have joined forces with the City of Wolverhampton Council to bring festive cheer to vulnerable families this Christmas.

Scores of gift boxes packed with toys, toiletries, snacks, chocolates and other items have been packed for distribution to 200 individuals and families across the city who are supported by the council's social care services in some way - including families with children, young carers and children and young people who are either in, or have recently left, care.

Alison Montgomery, the council's Head of Strengthening Families, said: "Kirsty Bull, Steve Bull's wife, contacted us after seeing a TV programme about families living in poverty and said they wanted to do something for Wolverhampton families at Christmas.

"Consequently we have identified 200 families in need, who will each receive gift box. It's a wonderful gesture and we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has made this possible."
