The City of Wolverhampton Council is bringing Christmas cheer to local care homes.

It has worked with Funtime Theatre, a locally based organisation which provides theatrical entertainment to residential and nursing Homes, and music group Boldz Brass, to put on festive fun for residents and staff.

Councillor Linda Leach, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Adult Services, said: "We wanted to say a big thank you to our city’s wonderful care homes.

"It is no understatement to say that 2020 has been a challenging year for them all, and we really appreciate they and their staff have continued to do, day in, day out, to support the people that care for.

"By way of thanks, we provided funding to Funtime Theatre to put on a digital performance of Aladdin and a Christmas sing-along, and Boldz Brass who will be serenading staff and residents with festive tunes."

Meanwhile, pupils at The Royal School have put on a Christmas Concert which is being shared with local care homes via YouTube.

And Gazebo Theatre has re-released its 2019 festive video, Christmas Is A Time of Cheer, written and produced by Gazebo Studios manager Danny Hudson, to be shared with care homes.
