The free Wolves at Work event on Wednesday 27 September between 10.30am and 1pm, is being hosted by City of Wolverhampton Council and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
It will provide Wolverhampton residents aged 16 to 29 with the chance to meet employers with live vacancies and find out about employment opportunities, training and work experience.
People with learning and physical disabilities are encouraged to come along and meet inclusive employers and training providers.
Around 27 employers and training providers from across the City of Wolverhampton and the Black Country will be at the event to showcase the jobs available to city jobseekers in the security, retail, care, administration and construction sectors.
They include McDonald’s, HSBC, Kew Hotels, Davisons Law, Mount Hotel, West Midlands Police and many others.
Attendees will also be able to find out about support and training on offer from organisations such as City of Wolverhampton College, Wolves at Work 18-24 and Connexions.
Emma Bennett, City of Wolverhampton Council Executive Director of Families, said: “Our Wolves at Work programme is working closely with city training partners and employers to better connect young people to the opportunities they have - and this continues during Business Week through this City Jobs Fair.
"There will be a wide representation of job opportunities - both full time and part time on offer - this event is not to be missed.”
Matt Rownes, Wolverhampton Youth Lead for the Department for Work and Pensions, said: “I am really looking forward to the City Jobs Fair. These events are fantastic, drawing in a remarkable crowd and brimming with incredible opportunities for our young people to step closer to their career goals. I would highly recommend as many young people as possible attend. The atmosphere is electric with some amazing opportunities on the day. It’s a chance you won’t want to miss!”
Businesses who are interested in taking part in the event should email youthhub@wolverhampton.gov.uk or call the Youth Employment Hub Coordinator on 07989 854658.
