The week will kick off with an event at the Civic Centre, with the council, Wolverhampton Homes and West Midlands Pension Fund coming together to celebrate the achievements of apprentices who have completed their programmes.
From Tuesday 5 March to Thursday 7 March, between 9am to 4:30pm people of all ages can drop in to the Civic Centre to get information on apprenticeships from the council, University of Wolverhampton, Performance Through People, Learn Play Foundation, City of Wolverhampton College, MBKB and HIT Training, Dudley College, and Walsall College.
On Friday 8 March, at Wolverhampton Civic Centre, there is an opportunity for those interested in apprenticeships, either for themselves or a friend/family member, to find out first hand from current apprentices employed in the city.
The apprentices will come from a wide range of roles and will explain why they chose the apprenticeship route, the benefits of it, the progression routes available and how to successfully become an apprentice.
Apprenticeships in the city run from level 2 (GCSE equivalent) to level 7 (Post graduate).
Councillor Lynne Moran, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, said: "National Apprenticeship Week is the ideal time for anyone interested in apprenticeships to find out more and hear from those who have already taken this route.
"Apprenticeships are an excellent pathway into employment and we work closely with city partners to develop apprenticeship opportunities across the city.
"Advice is on hand from Access to Business, City of Wolverhampton College, Wolverhampton Adult Education Service, and Wolverhampton Connexions Service all year round.
"The city's Skills and Employment Action Plan continues to be acted on and developed and the Workbox website provides a one-stop shop for people seeking job and apprenticeship opportunities."
A social media campaign #FireItUpWolves is also underway to encourage people of all ages to find out more about apprenticeships in the city. It highlights the support available from providers across the city as well as promoting apprenticeships and jobs available.
