The Festival will be back for its sixth year in February and is hosted by City of Wolverhampton Council. It will provide a platform to showcase the talents of our fantastic creative community. The theme of the 2022 Festival is Sound from the City.
The organisers are looking for proposals from individuals, organisations, community groups and venues to present events. They’re keen to hear ideas, performances, readings, concerts or talks. Multimedia proposals are also accepted. To present a proposal, submit your application using the online form available at Wolverhampton Literature Festival.
Organisers encourage submissions from those who are underrepresented in literature, and include, but not limited to, disabled artists and people from Black, Asian and ethnically diverse backgrounds.
Fees for involvement will be decided on a case by case basis.
Councillor Stephen Simkins, City of Wolverhampton Council Cabinet Member for City Economy, said: “The festival this year was a huge success and reached an international audience.
“It has become part of the city’s event programme and gives talented people from across the West Midlands a platform to showcase their talents. I encourage as many people as possible to get involved, whether that be reading, story writing, poetry or performance based.”
Submissions close at midnight on 28 June. Successful proposals will be contacted by 31 July. Submit a proposal by emailing art.gallery@wolverhampton.gov.uk or complete an online form.
