The Wednesfield Junior Parkrun gives 4 to 14 year olds the chance to complete a 2km circuit around Wednesfield Park every Sunday morning.
Those taking part are encouraged to run, jog or walk for their own enjoyment and at their own pace, and parents can also join in if they wish.
It celebrates its first anniversary on Sunday (31 July, 2016) and organisers are hoping as many young people as possible will come along to make it the biggest Junior Parkrun so far.
Councillor Paul Sweet, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, said: "The Junior Parkrun is a fantastic way for children and young people to get exercise, enjoy some fresh air and make new friends.
"It has had a very successful first 12 months, and we hope that this anniversary event can be the biggest and best yet.
"Organisers are asking young people to come along in fancy dress and take part, and to also introduce a friend to Parkrun. They are also keen to hear from parents, family or friends who would like to volunteer, either on the day or on any other occasions."
Wednesfield Junior Parkrun was launched last summer thanks to support from the City of Wolverhampton Council's Public Health team and representatives from Wolverhampton and Bilston Athletics Club who help marshal the route.
It takes place at Wednesfield Park every Sunday morning and is open to all children aged 4 to 14. Please meet by the play area at 8.45am.
