Sponsored by local business Collins Aerospace, this year’s event is on Saturday 29 June, noon to 4pm, at West Park, and will be buzzing with activities for people of all ages, focusing on free family fun throughout the day.
City of Wolverhampton’s Mayor, Councillor Linda Leach, said: “I hope as many people as possible from across the City come along to Armed Forces Day and show their support.
“Wolverhampton has a special relationship with our Armed Forces and this fantastic, free and fun event for all the family is a wonderful way to mark this – I look forward to seeing you there, joining the festivities with you and celebrating all that the Armed Forces do to defend our nation at home and abroad.”
Rob Burke, Talent Acquisition Partner at Collins Aerospace Actuation Systems, added: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring Wolverhampton Armed Forces Day again this year. After the success of last year’s event, we’re hoping for 2024 to be even bigger and better!
“In collaboration with our Veterans Employee Resource Group, the team have worked hard over the last 12 months to increase our reach and support for not only current serving military personnel but also all veterans in providing job opportunities here at Actuation Systems.”
Don’t miss the Armed Forces Parade at 1pm and there are also funfair rides and inflatables, street food and bar traders, free activities including face painting, Dr. Bike sessions, circus activities, plus a chance to meet and chat with local members of the Armed Forces at information stalls.
