The Care Partnership in partnership with Shaw Trust are holding this year's Careers into Care jobs fair at The Way Youth Zone, Wolverhampton, on Thursday (7 June) from 10am to 2pm.
Around 30 exhibitors from across Wolverhampton will be at the event to showcase the job opportunities in the care sector available to city jobseekers.
They include 247 Professional Healthcare, Accord Care, Wolverhampton's Fostering Agency, Progress Care, Woodford Homecare and many more. Those attending will have the opportunity to meet with these employers on a one-to-one basis to find out more.
A range of entry level jobs will be available including caring jobs in residential care homes, care support workers for people of all ages and domiciliary care jobs caring for people in their own homes. Many are flexible and can fit around childcare arrangements, and are open to drivers and non-drivers with many allowing people to work close to home.
Residents will also be able to get advice on training and find out how best to access careers in care from organisations and training providers including Wolves at Work, the City of Wolverhampton College, Job Change, Shaw Trust and Steps to Work.
Councillor Lynne Moran, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, said: "We have an ambitious long-term plan to encourage enterprise, empower people, reinvigorate our city and improve the prosperity of businesses and residents - and this event supports that.
"This is an excellent opportunity for people looking for work in the care sector or people who perhaps want a change of direction or are thinking of taking up further training or education."
John Harper, from 247 Professional Health Care, said: "We are really pleased to be exhibiting at this year Careers into Care event. Care is an exciting area to work, it has real jobs and many progression opportunities, and we have all sorts of roles available.
