The City of Wolverhampton Council will be selling off a range of 'pre-loved' books which have been withdrawn from circulation to make way for new stock in Wolverhampton's 16-strong library network.
The sale takes place at Bilston Town Hall on Saturday (18 May) from 10am to 2pm, with the money raised reinvested in the library service, including the purchase of the latest titles.
Robert Johnson, City Librarian, said: “We aim to ensure our libraries carry a wide range of titles, including the latest publications.
“With around 200 new books published every day in the UK there is always pressure on space on our shelves, and so occasionally we need to withdraw old titles from circulation.
“These tend to be books which haven't been loaned for a long period of time, or which have been updated with new editions.
“All of our libraries have a small selection of withdrawn stock for sale, but we will be bringing them together for this special sale at Bilston Town Hall which will give people a great chance to pick up a bargain or two.”
