As part of the forthcoming Wolverhampton Literature Festival, residents of Wolverhampton are invited to put pen to paper and submit a poem on 2022’s Black History theme ‘Time for Change: Action Not Words’.
Entrants are invited to submit a poem which reflects the theme 'Time for Change: Action not Words' and – whether inspiration is taken from life experience or from within the local community – to inspire the next generation.
There’s a chance of winning one of the following prizes:
- 1st Place – £150 cash
- 2nd Place - £30 voucher
- 3rd Place - £30 voucher
The poetry competition rules are:
- Entrants should be aged 18 years and over
- The poem has not been published elsewhere (eg, in a book, on social media or on websites etc) and must be written by the entrant
- The subject matter for entries is ‘Time for Change: Actions Not Words’
- A picture of the poet should be submitted with their poem
- Poems must be a maximum of 100 words
All entries must be submitted by midnight on Saturday 31 December 2022.
Winners will be announced at the award ceremony on Saturday 4 February 2023.
