An award winning careers fair for young people with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) will return next month.

The City of Wolverhampton Council is staging the Wolverhampton SEND Moving Into Adulthood Careers Fair 2025 at Wolverhampton Racecourse on Friday 31 January, 2025, from 10am to 2.30pm.

The free event is for young people in Year 9 and above, parents, carers and schools and will give attendees the chance to find out about the options available for further education, training and employment.

Councillor Jacqui Coogan, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Education, said: "As a council and as a city, we have made it a top priority to ensure that children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities are able to live their lives to the full.

"We are pleased to be able to hold what will be our third SEND Moving Into Adulthood Careers Fair. It is open to young people in Year 9 and above with SEND and an Education, Health and Care Plan, and we'll have a range of exhibitors including colleges, providers, supported employers, social care settings and community groups attending on the day.

"We hope it will give young people and parents the help and support they need as they make the transition from school and into adulthood."

Parents, carers, schools and potential exhibitors are asked to reserve their places by Friday 17 January, 2025, by visiting SEND Moving into Adulthood Careers Fair 2025.

The second Moving into Adulthood SEND Careers Fair, staged at Wolverhampton Racecourse in November 2023, won the Careers Intervention category at last summer's West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) Adult Learning Awards.
