‘Swap to Stop’ is a Government funded scheme to support smokers to quit smoking by providing a vape starter pack and 12 weeks worth of vape supply, along with support from an advisor.
This scheme is strictly available on a first come, first served basis and availability is limited. If all places are booked, please check back at a later date for further availability.
To be eligible for the Swap to Stop scheme you must be a current smoker, aged 18 years or over and meet some medical requirements which can be discussed with your advisor.
How it works
- Book an appointment at a venue convenient for you. At this appointment you confirm your smoking status, conduct a carbon monoxide test and discuss, smoking history and your motivations to quit smoking. You will also discuss your medical history, to ensure any further medical sign off required is obtained.
- You will then receive your vape, with 4 weeks worth of vape liquid supply and begin your transition from smoking to vaping.
- Throughout your quit attempt, you will have regular check in’s with your Swap to Stop advisor.
- After 4 and 8 weeks, the advisor will confirm you are continuing with your quit attempt and order the next 4 weeks worth of vape liquid supply. This will result in 12 weeks worth of vape supply.
- Please note: You will need to keep in touch with your Swap to Stop advisor throughout the 12 weeks to continue to receive your vape liquid supply at the 4 week and 8 week stage.
Vapes are proven to be an effective stop smoking aid and are recommended by NICE and the NHS for current smokers as a less harmful alternative to help them quit smoking. However, vaping is not recommended for those that do not smoke or people aged under 18 years of age.
