Bookings for vans, larger vehicles, or a trailer have increased from 5 to 10 slots during the week (Monday to Friday). Previously slots were an hour, now we’re offering 30 minute slots. Limited bookings are available on Saturdays and Sundays.
Entry to our sites must be pre-booked. Vehicles will not be permitted on site without a valid permit as well as two forms of ID (one photographic and a recent household bill).
This service is not available to residents outside of Wolverhampton and is not for commercial waste activities or trade waste. The council’s enforcement team will monitor activity and will take the necessary action if instructions are breached.
If you use the vehicles listed below, you will need to book a tip visit:
- a van
- car with a trailer
- pick-up truck
- commercial type vehicle
When booking a Tip Visit you must confirm the waste is:
- residential household waste only
- generated at a residential property within Wolverhampton
- not trade waste
- not being disposed of for payment by a third party
Tip Visit Terms and Conditions
Use of this service is subject to agreement of the terms and conditions for the disposal of your domestic waste from an address in Wolverhampton. You must agree to the terms and conditions to use the service.
You must certify that the waste you intend to bring to the HWRC site is:
- Your residential household waste only which was generated at your residential property within Wolverhampton
- None of the waste is trade waste
- You have not been paid to dispose of the waste by any other third party
If any of this information is found to be incorrect, and it is identified that the waste you deposit on site is not solely your residential waste then you will be committing an offence and the council will investigate and legal action could be taken against you.
Tip Visit Disclaimer
Shaw Road and Anchor Lane tips (Household Waste Recycling Centres) is provided for the use of Wolverhampton residents and their domestic waste only.
The local authority is only required to provide household waste recycling centres for residents to dispose of their residential household waste free of charge. Trade or commercial waste of any description is not accepted at any of the Wolverhampton household waste recycling centres.
City of Wolverhampton Council staff will not accept any waste arising from a business or commercial operation (including landlords) at either of these sites. All trade waste should be disposed of via an appropriately licensed contractor, or at an appropriate and licensed transfer station or landfill site.
By illegally depositing this type of waste you could be liable under Sections 33 and 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. Section 33 carries a fine of £50,000 or a prison sentence, and section 34 a fine of £5,000 or an unlimited fine through the Crown Court.
