Business Testing Grant
Applications for the Business Testing Grant have now closed.
If you completed your application before 30 April 2021 it will be processed and you will hear from our grants team in due course.
To be eligible for the grant you need to provide evidence that 75% of your employees are testing twice a week
Suggested evidence of testing
Evidence that 75% of your employees are testing twice a week needs to be uploaded to the grant application portal.
The acceptable forms of evidence are:
- Download one of the templates form the Downloads section
- Each time you and your staff do a test record it on the template.
- Once a week scan or take a photo of the template and upload to the Grant Portal.
Other acceptable forms of evidence are:
- Your grant application number can be given to employees who will be able to quote the number when booking an appointment at one of the rapid test centres.
- Your employees can quote your grant application number when attending one of the rapid test centres without an appointment.
Access to test kits
The closing date for requesting test kits direct to your business has now closed.
Please use the information below to find out where you can ask your employees to collect kits from:
- Find where to get rapid lateral flow tests or you can order free packs of rapid lateral flow tests to be sent to your home.
- Full instructions on how to do the test are in the box.
- You and your staff should take the test twice weekly and upload your result online.
Grant level
Grants will be awarded based on the number of employees within a business, subject to meeting the terms and conditions of the scheme.

The initial 25% payment will have been made subject to the information in the application meeting the requirements. The final payment will be made following the end of the scheme on 30 June in line with the terms above.
The Council reserves the right to close or vary the terms of the scheme at any time, and without notice, should it be necessary to do so. Anyone found to be making fraudulent or a misleading application could face prosecution and any funds received will be subject to a recovery notice.
Appeals
There is no appeal process. Applicants whose applications are rejected may request a review. The review will be carried out by an officer who was not involved in the original decision. The decision of the review is final. Details about how to request a review will be provided to every applicant whose application is rejected.
